Why are our puppy classes different ?
Puppy Socialisation
All socialisation in our puppy classes is done on lead, we do not allow dogs off lead in a free for all, which can have a negative effect on your own dog’s attitude to other dogs. Our belief is that should we teach our puppies at the most impressionable time in their lives to ‘play’ / ‘chase’ other dogs, it only brings you the dog owner problems in the future when trying to call your dog back that is intent on playing with other dogs. Dogs should be socialised in a controlled manner, and learn to accept other dogs without the need to put pressure on them to play.
Praise and Play Reward Based Training
All dog training should be carried out with the dogs interests being at the forefront of our training, and developing in the process a great handler / dog bond. So all our training is reward based in the use of verbal and hands on praise and affection, and the energy release of playing with your dog. Building a bond, not a fat puppy that only wants to work when its hungry or being bribed.
Tricks 4 Treats
No we dont! We teach the basics and the day to day manners that your dog needs! Yes we can help you with the tricks and give you help if you want to, our classes are about developing the relationship with your dog, making them more of a well mannered pet rather than getting them ready for Britain’s Got Talent.
We make it happen
Being focused on the success of the dog, all training is commenced with the end goal in mind. Setting up the dog for success right from the start, and building on that success in a structured and rewarding programme, ensures a well trained and mannered dog for many years. Where we can we help the dog to achieve, and make sure the achievements are rewarded in a timely fashion.
