“How can I stop my dog from running off”
The most frightening thing that happens on most walks, when we let the dog off the lead, it sees another dog or human, or worse still sheep, rabbits etc and that's it, the red mist sets in and off runs the dog.
No amount of shouting is going to stop it dead in its tracks and return to us, and no amount of high quality warm fillet steak is going to deter that fruitless chase of the local wildlife, but still dogs are off lead, with little to no recall.
Then when we do actually get them back, we give them a right ticking off, for what we have asked them to do Come Back to Us !
So why do they run off, and why cant we get them back ?
Put simply we are boring compared to the other attractions out in the real world, and when they do eventually come back to us why did they bother if all we are going to do is tell them off ?
