Force Free Puppy Training - THE SIT
Truly Force FREE !! | Rewards Based Training
This is young Crumble, in the video she is just over 6 weeks old.
She is the Daughter of Reeve and Half Sister of Custard, we bred her here at Ashill.
I am training using her raw food meal, This session was 'breakfast'
The first thing I want my dogs to understand is that my release command 'OK' is the best thing in the world! Thats the word I want to mean something for my dogs.
Secondly, Good is used as a marker word to signifiy to her that 'OK' is on the way.
This particular video also saw the introduction of the word sit, at a Stage where Crumble was sitting everytime on the placeboard once she got onto it - because I was upright, she sat to look up at me. Her eye contact triggered the 'GOOD' then she was released.
Then when she was sitting everytime (without any prompt), 'SIT' was added, this increases her want to sit when she hears 'SIT'. Once she has sat and looked at me, she hears good followed by ok ( in a high voice) to get her reward.
(Success rate of Asking Crumble to Sit, to her doing it ?? - 100% )
She gets the reward, remembers she needs to be seated on the board, giving me eye contact and then it comes again.
Because crumble receives so many rewards for sitting, like her big sister Custard, she will never jump up to solicit attention. She will.... SIT !
There are a few stages before and after this video to get the finished product. But training this way IS force free, purely positive, and makes the dog think.
After this small short session, we had a cuddle in the barn and chilled, then, Crumble was snoring in her crate for almost 2 hours.
TRULY FORCE FREE !!!! POSITIVE REWARDS BASED TRAINING!!!!
