All our gundog training classes, courses and lessons are based upon setting the dog up for success from the start. Ensuring that the training is fun, and not seen as fun by the puppy or dog.
To ensure consistent client centred training all our training is done on a 121 basis to begin with, covering all aspects of gundog training, from beating line, to peg dog, to picking up dog.
Structured training which is presented in a way that scaffolds the learning of the pup and the handler ensures success is achieved at the variouse stages of the dogs progression.
Breckland Gundog Training Also Offer a complete sourcing and residential training service for those that do not have the time, or the want to train their Peg Dog.
We also have dogs in training that are available to purchase either part or fully trained.
Picking up Dogs
Steadiness is the key for all picking up dogs, having to watch whilst the fallen game falls to the ground then once the whistle goes, they can do their stuff. Training will include:-
Steadiness
High level obedience
Off lead heelwork
Directional control, left, right and back commands.
Stop to the whistle
Recall
Presenting of game to handler
Moving your dog onto fallen game
Hunt commands
And much more
Beating Line Dogs
We go through the needs of a beating line / brushing dog, ensuring steadiness, and solid response to all commands, including;
Hunting pattern
Recall
Stop whistle
Probably the most boring training, but most rewarding part of gundog work, getting your gundog to find game, flush game and return to the handler without taking off after it.
Even if you never take your dog on a shoot, you would be hard pressed to find a more stimulating challenge for your dog than gundog training.
We cater for all the familiar gundog breeds, Springer Spaniels, Cocker Spaniels, Labradors, and mixes of the same.
We cater for all levels of capabilities through our Beginners, Intermediates and Advanced Classes.
